Reifen Forster was founded in 1925 by Josef Forster (born 1896) and since 1953 was successfully managed by his children Anneliese, Josef and Engelbert.

In 1974 the branch in Bludenz was opened at the location of the old headquarters and in 1982 moved to Brunnenfeld. The establishment of the branch in Klaus allowed the development of the local market in the region "Kummenberg".
